Why take a nervous system-focused approach?
It's all about the cranial nerves.
Cranial nerves like the vagus nerve interact with the entire body, sending messages about whether we are safe enough to rest while helping the body to shift into a parasympathetic state. We need the body to feel safe enough to allow the parasympathetic shift to happen because that is the state where healing takes place.
Every time we touch someone we have the opportunity to impact the nervous system... and if we are not careful, we can trigger a survival response. The result is agitation, anxiety, tense muscles, a clenched jaw and a body that will not prioritize cellular function (amongst other things).
The goal is to understand how the autonomic nervous system works and take a gentle approach to touch. Every single step we take is evaluated and performed from the perspective of the vagus nerve and what it might interpret. By doing this, we can harness our powers of intention and encourage full body, mind and spirit healing.
Current Offerings:
End-of-year trainings are only being offered as private sessions, bookable through the enrollment section on this page. Below you will find information on each class.
Stay tuned for small group offerings for 2026. Large group trainings are on hold for now.
The price for private, small group and large group certification is the same - the only difference is time and whether you will work on models (private sessions) or give and receive (groups).

The Details
All private and small group sessions take place in my cozy suite at Sun Up Skin.
You will receive printed workbooks, example protocols, intake forms and lifetime access to relevant online courses with ongoing updates. These online courses have additional theory and full-length demo videos for practice after your sessions.
Half-day trainings consist of 1.5 hours of theory, followed by 2 hours of work on models. Full days consist of 1.5 hours of theory, followed by 4.5 hours of model work with a 30 min lunch break. Models are supplied for you for private trainings. For small group trainings, you will be trading (you are the models for each other).
Certificates of Completion are provided upon completion of all required hours and practical assessment.
CE hours are currently available for Sculpting the Face with Intraoral sessions only. Please note that you will NOT be able to receive CE hours for approved courses if you miss more than 15 mins of class.

I find that the students I attract are 1) interested in providing more holistic care to their clients and 2) often consider themselves (and the clientele they attract) to be highly sensitive. This is why my trainings focus on taking a whole body approach and always consider the nervous system, even for the attendees. Every detail is considered to ensure everyone feels safe throughout their experience.

Hi, I'm Bethany
I have been an educator for going on 16 years, and in that time there is no part of cosmetology or esthetics I haven't taught (or worked in). I have been teaching facial massage specifically and going down fascia rabbit holes since 2022, and have finally found something that I absolutely love!
For the last few years, I have been exploring the intersection between somatics, spirituality, healing, touch work and the beauty industry... and, to be honest, exploring the trauma I have experienced from being a part of the beauty industry and living in an agist, capitalist society.
I know that many of us feel burnt out, exhausted and frustrated with the narratives we experience daily on social media, at work or with clients. It will take a lot of re-programming and deconstructing narratives to shift our perspectives and heal our traumatized nervous systems, and I want to be a part of that change. I believe that fascia is the bridge between "beauty" and "being," and I hope you will join me in exploring what that means!
